Trabzonspor has added German goalkeeper coach Marco Knoop to its technical staff. The 48-year-old previously worked as an assistant to Vitor Pereira at Nottingham Forest, leaving the English club this past July.

Knoop brings prior experience in Turkey from a spell at Fenerbahçe. He served as goalkeeper coach for the Istanbul club between January 2020 and June 2021, working under managers Ersun Yanal, Tahir Karapınar, Erol Bulut, and Emre Belözoğlu. The appointment is part of technical director Thomas Reis's efforts to bolster the backroom team.

The club currently sits 7th in the Süper Lig with 10 points. Its form over the last five matches reads two wins and three defeats (LWLWL). Trabzonspor faces 16th-placed Samsunspor away on October 10th.

Knoop's role will be to reinforce that defensive stability specifically for the goalkeepers. The current league standings and upcoming fixtures are also available.
