Trabzonspor have made their move to strengthen the midfield by initiating contact with FC Midtjylland for Danish player Philip Billing. The Super Lig side, currently 7th with 10 points from 6 matches, have opened negotiations for the 30-year-old.
Manager Thomas Reis identified the need for a physically dominant midfielder in discussions with the board. The club's scouting team provided a report highlighting Billing's attributes, stating the player "stands out with his ability to play the game in both directions, with information that he could make a significant contribution to the team with ball-winning, aerial dominance and quick transitions to attack."
Billing, who is 1.93m tall, moved from Bournemouth to Midtjylland for €5 million this past summer and is under contract until 2030. Trabzonspor are considering offering the versatile midfielder a four-year deal. He is capable of playing in both defensive and central roles, known for his long passing and shooting from distance.
Trabzonspor's form reads two wins and three losses (LWLWL) from their last five matches. Their next fixture is away to Samsunspor on 10 October. The transfer operation is expected to develop further in the coming days.
