Trabzonspor have officially announced Thomas Reis as their new head coach. The German manager has signed a two-season contract with the Turkish Süper Lig club.
The move required Trabzonspor to pay a €900,000 release clause to Reis's former club, Ludogorets in Bulgaria. His guaranteed salary is set at €1 million for the 2026-27 season and €1.2 million for the 2027-28 campaign. The club confirmed the appointment via their official social media channels with a 'Hoş geldin Thomas Reis' welcome message.
Reis has previous experience in Turkey, having managed Samsunspor and led them to European qualification. A signing ceremony is scheduled for 15:45 at Papara Park later today.
He takes charge of a Trabzonspor side sitting 9th in the Süper Lig with 7 points from 5 games, their recent form reading two wins and three losses from the last five outings. Reis's first test will be a home fixture against league leaders Galatasaray on Friday, 19 September 2026.
