Trabzonspor has posted record-breaking commercial figures following the summer signing of Mohamed Salah. Club executives announced that over 116,000 jerseys have been sold in the two months since the star forward's arrival, generating roughly 520 million TL in revenue.
"Trabzonspor sold more than 116,000 jerseys in less than two months, potentially generating roughly ₺520 million ($10.6 million) in revenue," said club officials. This figure represents a 152% increase compared to the 46,000 jerseys sold in the same period last season. Having sold nearly 200,000 jerseys throughout the entirety of last season, the club has now set a new seasonal record.
SEASON TICKET SURGE
The Salah effect extended beyond merchandise. The club confirmed season ticket sales have surpassed 25,000. Officials stated, "Sales had initially reached 18,000, a figure the club described as an all-time record, before Trabzonspor set a new target of 25,000." This is more than three times the 7,978 season tickets sold ahead of the 2025-26 campaign. With Papara Park's capacity listed at 41,061 by the Turkish Football Federation, current sales account for over 60% of the stadium's total seats.
The 34-year-old Egyptian forward joined on a free transfer from Liverpool, signing a two-year contract. Salah's package guarantees him €17 million per season, comprising a €10 million annual salary and a €7 million signing payment each year. A separate image-rights deal entitles him to 20% of revenue from products bearing his name sold through Trabzonspor's retail company, which could net him an additional $2 million if all 116,000 jerseys sold feature his name.
His on-field impact validates the frenzy. Trabzonspor currently sits 7th in the Süper Lig with 10 points from 6 games. Mohamed Salah is the team's top scorer this season with 7 goals in 6 appearances. He most recently scored a hat-trick in the 4-0 derby victory over Galatasaray on 19 September. The team's next league fixture is an away match against Samsunspor on 10 October.
