Management's Focus on Strengthening Squad Ahead of New Season
Trabzonspor, a club known for its passionate fanbase and rich history in Turkish football, is reportedly considering a transfer deal to bring back their former star forward, Alexander Sörloth. The club’s management, led by President Doğan, has initiated discussions with the aim of re-signing the 1.96m tall striker who previously scored 33 goals in 49 matches during his stint at Trabzonspor.
Technical Director's Recommendation
Technical director Fatih Tekke has recommended that Trabzonspor make a move for Sörloth, given his proven goal-scoring ability. The club is currently conducting price negotiations to finalize the deal. Sörloth’s performance during his time at Trabzonspor was impressive, with 33 goals and 11 assists in 49 matches, including 24 goals in Süper Lig and 7 in Ziraat Türkiye Kupası.
Previous Transfer Details
Sörloth joined Trabzonspor from Crystal Palace on a loan deal for the 2019-2020 season. He signed a 2+2 year contract with the club but left early due to his outstanding performance, which led to an earlier release from the team. During his time at Trabzonspor, he scored 33 goals and provided 11 assists in 49 appearances. Sörloth later moved to RB Leipzig for a transfer fee of 20 million euros.
Club's Ambition
Trabzonspor’s management believes that bringing back Sörloth could significantly strengthen their squad ahead of the new season. The club hopes that his return will help them challenge for titles in both domestic and international competitions, much like he did during his first spell at Trabzonspor.
