Trabzonspor suffered an early injury blow to striker Paul Onuachu during their UEFA Conference League away match against KuPS. The Nigerian forward scored to put his side ahead in the third minute but was forced off with an injury just seven minutes later.
UNABLE TO CONTINUE
Franculino replaced Onuachu in the 10th minute. The severity of the injury and the expected length of the player's absence are not yet known. The club will conduct further medical examinations to determine the full extent of the problem.
This setback could affect the squad plans for the Burgundy-Blues, who are fifth in the Süper Lig with 13 points. Their next fixture is a key home match against second-placed Beşiktaş on 18 October. Onuachu's availability for that derby is now in serious doubt. You can review the team's early-season performance and current squad status. The challenging upcoming fixtures are also worth a look.
Despite Onuachu's early exit, Trabzonspor went on to secure a 4-2 victory over KuPS. Franculino scored twice in the match, while Mohamed Salah contributed a goal and an assist. Salah is now the team's top scorer this season with 7 goals in 7 appearances.
