The Black Sea club’s hierarchy is targeting reinforcements across the pitch, with right-wing and striker options also in the mix. But the spotlight now falls on Diaz after Nwaiwu’s exit looks increasingly likely. The Ivorian, who plays for ESTAC Troyes in Ligue 1, has been under Trabzonspor’s microscope for some time.

Diaz brings versatility to Trabzonspor’s backline, capable of slotting in at centre-back or as a defensive midfielder. His 1.93m frame and aerial dominance make him a threat in defensive duels, while his ability to read the game and spray passes from deep adds another dimension. Fatih Tekke, the club’s sporting director, has given the player the thumbs-up.
The transfer strategy suits Diaz’s profile: Trabzonspor often sign such players, develop them, then sell for a premium. His current market value is pegged at around €6 million.
